Emilyn's 22 months old...

As of Friday, Emilyn is 22 months old. Emilyn is also officially in her "no" stage. Here is a conversational test I just gave her....
I asked the questions, she gave the answers..

"Is your favorite word 'no'?"

"No."

"Do you like applesauce?"

"uh uh" (as in "no")

"Is your name Emilyn?"

"No."

"Can you say the word 'yes'?"

"No"

"Emilyn, are you happy?"

"No" she says with a huge smile lighting up her face.

Ok, now she just threw me for a loop when I asked her if she wanted more pizza (she's eating dinner) and she said, "Yes"!

Silly, girl. Almost 2!!

Some of her favorite things to do are "freestyle" dance, color with crayons, draw on her magnadoodle and get us to "draw" for her, play anything her sissies are playing...and snuggle with her mommy and daddy....
She also likes to baby her dolls...

One of her favorite games she plays while coloring is to scribble a little bit and then hold up her paper for me to see, as she says "Mommy!" and has an expectant look on her face waiting for my compliment. An enthusiastic "Oooo, wow!! has her feeling proud and back to the drawing board again. A minute later she repeats this, "Mommy! Mommy!" as she holds up her artwork to get my attention. "Oooo Wow!" I repeat...
Another favorite activity is to put her big sissys' PJs on after they've changed into their day clothes. She asks us to help her put them on over her own clothes. See her here in the PJs with her "I feel like a big girl" smile...
Emilyn also knows our routine for when we come inside from being out...go to the closet and take your jacket off (one of her sissies or I usually help)...then she knows it's time to take her shoes off and put them in the cubby.
Here she is taking off her shoes. Sometimes she says. "Help. help" but usually she gets it herself and seems quite pleased with herself for her accomplishment.
Another little idiosyncrasy of hers, is that when she finds a towel/sponge/paper towel on the floor she goes and cleans something with it. Here is a blurry photo of her using the sponge to scrub the floor. Won't it be great if she keeps this up?

We feel so blessed by our little Emilyn Joy.
Jaci continues to "make over" her. "Mom she's SO cute!" she'll say.
Or "Mommy, she's so little!" All I see is she's getting big, big too fast!
