Emilyn's 1st swim lesson!

Ok, so maybe you were expecting a photo of the lesson...but there was no photographer.
Daddy opted to stay home with the 2 big ones who would have begged to go in the pool, but couldn't...their first day of lessons will be Saturday morning at our local Y. Though Jaci tried nearly all day to convince us she needed to go tonight as well.

Emilyn's age group is just the shrimp class--parent and baby playing in the water. Ok, so most of my family knows this is a miracle that I jumped in and did it. Why? Because while many people love nothing better than to spend their summers living in a swimsuit--I'm not one of them. However, for my baby...well, I bit the bullet. And I'm glad I did!

I have never had this kind of one on one time with any of my babies when they were small. And, Emilyn tends to get left out a lot as I focus on her older sissies. The glee my little 15 month old exhibited, to get to splash in that "giant sized bathtub" was contagious. For 30 minutes I got to know the joy of her happiness moving around blissfully in the water, in the trust of her mommy's arms. I enjoyed every moment of her. So blessed.

Well, I don't have a photo in the pool, but I have this self-portrait of us after we arrived home again. Another mommy moment to be stored up in my heart forever.

Yes, I was one of those that was shocked when your mom told me you were doing this - but I am glad you had a great experience and Emilyn had so much fun.
Happy belated anniversary!

Awww! Reminds me of the lessons I took with Sam when he was about 18 months...such fun memories! They even took underwater photos of him too! I am glad you and Emilyn got some one on one time and a happy memory to keep in your heart! Love you, Patti
