Despite the fact that Steve had the shingles, we decided to breakaway from home and head to Michigan to visit family for the long weekend. I think it was good medicine for Steve!

Here are a few photos at the river. We enjoyed a yummy lunch and sweet family fellowship on Saturday of that weekend at "Aunt Susan and Uncle Tom's" as the girls call them. Sue is actually my mom's 1st cousin. Howard and Ruth (Ruth is Susan's sister) also stopped by to see us.

We enjoyed being with family and also taking the same nature walk I took many times as a child. What a privilege to get to share it with my own children.

Emilyn with her daddy.

Here is "Aunt Amy" with Jaci. We were blessed to get to see Amy as well, my 2nd cousin (Sue and Tom's daughter).

Here is Aunt Susan, Uncle Tom and the girls. Can you see the basket that Jaci is carrying? Aunt Susan gave the girls this basket for the walk, so that they could store any treasures they might find along the way. How thoughtful is that?! And how FUN for the girls. Jaci especially took advantage of the idea.

Howard willingly showed off some of his toys to Steve, and Uncle Tom had to have his leg pulled to take "the boys" (and a few girls) in his own new toy to Ruth and Howard's. (That was sarasm of course!)

We spent the rest of our time with Steve's mom (Maka) and sister (Auntie Ruth Ann) and had a wonderful time just being together. Steve's mom looks much better since their December accident, and Auntie is busy helping out Mum (who is still going to rehab several days as week) plus trying to get the house in order for selling since GG died in January. She was the greatest of all hostesses as usual. We'll miss staying there when the house sells.
Here is a photo of Auntie with Emilyn. Unfortunately we somehow missed getting a photo of Maka. She looked great though, I promise.
